How do we create QTVR Panoramas?

Seeing Eye Enterprises uses a variety of professional hardware and software to develop and produce QTVR panorama movies.

Below is a brief example of the process used to create a QTVR pano.

Step 1:

The location for the pano is made ready for QTVR photography.
This includes:
Selecting the proper angle for full coverage of the area.
Adjusting lighting conditions.
Assuring objects in the area remain consistent between frames. (continuity)

Seeing Eye Enterprises can work with you to choose what sections of your location you would like to highlight. Images that have objects in the foreground, middle ground, and background result in pleasing panoramas that give the user a better perspective of the depth of field.

Step 2:

SEE uses digital still cameras to capture a series of 12 to 24 photographs in a 360 degree radius.

 frame1  frame2  frame3  frame4  frame5  frame6  frame7  frame8  frame9  frame10  frame11  frame12
The use of digital format cameras ensures the images remain in the digital format from capture to completion for optimal quality and for quicker post production.

Step 3:

The digital images are transferred directly to our computers. No processing or scanning is necessary.

Step 4:

The digital images are optimized for the QTVR end product: the web or CD-ROM.

Step 5:

SEE uses professional software applications to 'stitch' the digital images together, creating a seamless 360 degrees of view.
The result is a panoramic pict file like the one below

Step 6:

The panoramic pict file is digitally corrected for lighting differences or continuity problems.

At this point SEE can also alter the photograph to include logos, graphics, copyright info, etc.
We have also been known to 'alter reality' by removing unwanted objects or people!

Step 7:

Finally, the panoramic pict is made viewable by QuickTime in the QTVR format.
Many extra steps are taken here to ensure the pano is optimized for it's final destination; a CD-ROM or the world-wide-web.
This includes compression, streaming, HTML embedding, linking panos via URLs, adding directional audio, and cross-platform capabilities.

Seeing Eye Enterprises can create a multimedia CD-ROM for you, upload the final QTVR to your website, or create a website for your new QTVR panorama. You always get a back-up copy of all work including source files and thumbnail images.

The final result is a full view of the location in QTVR.

If you have QuickTime Pro, we suggest you save the CD-ROM version of this pano to disk. Open it with QuickTime Player and 'Present Movie' from the 'File' menu, using the 'Normal' movie size. This will give you a full screen panorama with 3D sounds which is quite relaxing. Enjoy!

*note: The web version of this pano is linked to other pano's for a Virtual Tour Blanchard Springs.
Look for the cursor to change to a 'finger pointing at a globe' for a link to another pano.
